‘The Post’ has brought the legendary trio of Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Meryl Streep together for the first time. Though Spielberg and Hanks have worked together in the past, it’s for the first time that the actor-director duo is collaborating with Meryl Streep. ‘The Post’ depicts the story of a journalist of ‘The Washington Post’, who leaks the documents of the ‘Pentagon Papers’ with the help of an editor of ‘The New York Times’.

Tom Hanks will be seen playing the role of ‘The New York Times’ editor named Ben Bradlee and Meryl Streep will be playing the character of Katharine Graham from 'The Washington Post' in this Spielberg helmed film.

The ‘Pentagon Papers’ is a United States Department of Defense history of the United States' political-military involvement in Vietnam from 1945 to 1967.

More specifically, the movie is based on the papers that revealed the U.S. had secretly enlarged the scope of its actions in the Vietnam War with the bombings of nearby Cambodia and Laos, coastal raids on North Vietnam, and Marine Corps attacks, none of which were reported in the mainstream media.

This hard-hitting film will hit the screens to a limited release on 22nd December and have its wide release in India and across the globe on 12th January 2018.
