The actress has, however, refuted the rumors, claiming that they are false because she is so busy with her work. Samantha Ruth Prabhu announced on Thursday that she had resumed work and had begun dubbing for the movie Shaakuntalam by posting a photo taken at the dubbing studio to her official social media accounts.
There were rumors going around that owing to her illness, Sam will be replaced by some actress in Citadel starring Varun Dhawan. However, it is now learned that she is still playing the lead in the web series and is about to start filming for it soon.
Gunasekhar wrote and directed the film Shaakuntalam. In the movie, which is based on the well-known Indian play Shakuntala by Kalidasa, Dev Mohan will play Dushyanta, the ruler of the Puru Dynasty. The film also features lead performances by Gautami Tadimalla, Aditi Balan, and Ananya Nagalla. Shaakuntalam, starring Samantha, will open in theatres on February 17, 2023. Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi will all have Shaakuntalam's release. Additionally, the movie will be shown in 3D, providing moviegoers with a special visual experience.
