Nia was asked about being compared to Uorfi Javed during an interview. For those who are unaware, Sharma has been tagged Javed's sister by certain online users for their common sense of eccentric dress choices.

Referring to being compared to Uorfi Javed, she said, "Where I come from and how long I have been there and then the other person wasn't even... (people) didn't even know (they) existed. So you (trolls) are making a fool of yourselves by disseminating such news simply to be... just to make them readable. And it is incapable of doing so. And I'm not the one who's succumbing to it. I will not allow you to do this to my name.
