On the second last day of the FDCI X Lakme Fashion Week, which is taking place in New Delhi, fashion designer Punit Balana presented an exciting collection. Janhvi Kapoor was the designer's show-stopper. She got the audience inside the venue to applaud and clap for her with a áadaab, a twirl, and then a namaste.
Janhvi was dressed in a crimson embroidered lehenga. The gorgeous item was covered in rich embroidery with gold threads and a pattern that ran the length of it. The strappy choli had tassels and no back. With the dupatta, the entire ensemble came together flawlessly. The actress completed her look with a pair of golden high heels.
Punit Balana's new collection was titled 'Lakshmi,' an artistic statement that combines Rajasthani culture and art styles.
Punit has highlighted what the line meant to him when discussing his inspiration for Lakshmi. “Lakshmi’ as the name suggests takes inspiration from the journey of this young, urbane, cosmopolitan girl, Lakshmi, who is well travelled, have explored the world fashion, yet is very rooted,” the designer said the assembled reporters. She is returning to India to attend a friend’s wedding in Rajasthan after the pandemic.” And he claimed that Janhvi Kapoor was his Lakshmi. “So I could relate to Lakshmi in Janhvi so much. She’s young, she’s modern, she’s experimental. She wants to try new fashion trends. So it was very easy for me,” said the designer.
Janhvi opened up about walking the ramp after years and stated, “I had a lot of fun and it was different being
here after two years. I forgot about the madness that happens backstage, there’s such amazing energy and everyone’s so excited. It definitely lived up to the hype.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Janhvi Kapoor will be next seen in GoodLuck Jerry, Mr. and Mrs. Mahi and Mili.
