Alia Bhatt is busy prepping for the release of her upcoming film Gangubai Kathiawadi. She has begun with the promotions of her much awaited film along with co-star Ajay Devgn and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The actress has been slaying back-to-back looks for the film, and this one has us completely smitten.

Taking some inspiration from her character in the movie, she slipped into a classic white silk saree and a sleeveless blouse. The ensemble featured an ivory coloured silk saree with sequined embroidery and blouse with a scalloped neckline. Channelling her inner Gangubai, she opted for a classic 1960s hairdo with fresh red roses adorning her hair. She kept it bold and chic in a glam makeup look with bold red lips. This look is very similar to the signature look of her character in the film as she is mostly wearing a white saree throughout the movie. She accessorized her look with a pair of large diamond studs.

Taking to her Instagram, she shared a series of pictures and wrote, "AA RAHI HAIN GANGU Sirf cinema main - 25th February Se"

The post garnered thousands of likes within minutes of posting, among which, Tollywood actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu and superstar SRK's daughter dropped their likes.

After repeated postponements due to the pandemic, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali helmed film will finally reach theatres on February 25. It will also have its world premiere at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival and a Telugu release on February 25th.

Gangubai Kathiawadi is loosely based on the true story of Gangubai Harjivandas, popularly known as Gangubai Kothewali, whose life was documented in the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai written by S Hussain Zaidi. The film will also co-star Ajay Devgan, Vijay Raaz and Jim Sarbh in key roles.
