Vikram Bhatt Biography

Vikram Bhatt is a well known producer and director in the Hindi film industry. He has worked upon more than 25 films till date. The talented director is the creative head of a company known as ASA Production and Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. Vikram Bhatt was born on 27th January 1969. His father is noted cinematographer Pravin Bhatt and his grandfather was Vijay Bhatt who is considered as one of the pioneers of the Indian film industry. He is married to Aditi Bhatt.

Vikram started his career in the year 1982 at the age of 14 with the well known director Mukul Anand through the film 'Kanoon Kya Karega'. He worked as a chief assistant for Mukul Anand for the film Agneepath too. He then worked with veteran director Shekhar Kapur and then with Mahesh Bhatt. He was the part of the team during the films like 'Junoon' and 'Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke'. Later he started working independently. His first independent venture was 'Jaanam' which was directed by Mukesh Bhatt. His next four films could not do much at the box office but he got a taste of success for the first time with the success of his film 'Fareb'. Later he did successful films like 'Raaz','Ghulam','Kasoor' and 'Awara Paagal Deewana'.

After 'Awara Paagal Deewana' his next films were unsuccessful at the box office. His 'Ankahee' and 'Deewane Huye Paagal' were moderately successful. But later he made some horror flicks like '1920' ,'Shaapit' and then he pioneered the 3D films in India with his other horror flick 'Haunted'. 'Haunted' is considered as the highest grossing Hindi horror film. Later in 2012, he directed Raaz 3D which was also a great success. After 'Raaz 3' , Vikram wrote another horror flick '1920 - Evil Returns' which was also a hit in 2012.

Bhatt's recent movie was a 3D supernatural film 'Dangerous Ishq' which was a comeback film of Karisma Kapoor. Some of the noted films which Vikram wrote are 'Aap Mujhe Achhe Lagne Lage', 'Footpath','Elaan' ,'Jurm','Speed', 'Life mein Kabhie Kabhiee' etc. Some films which Vikram wrote are 'Dastak' ,'Bardaasht' ,'Yakeen' ,'Hate Story' etc. Vikram Bhatt's upcoming film is 'Ankur Arora Murder Case' starring Kay Kay Menon, Vishakha Singh and Arjun Mathur.
