Tulip Joshi Biography

Tulip Joshi is a famous model and actress who appears in Hindi and Kannada movies. She was born on 11th September 1979 in Mumbai. Her father is a Gujarati and her mother is a Lebanese Armenian. Tulip was brought up in Mumbai. She did schooling from the famous Jamnabai Narsee School and graduated from Mithibai College. She has a degree in Chemistry and Food Science. Tulip has two sisters, Selphi and Monalisa. Monalisa is married to actor Rajat Bedi. Monica is said be married with Capt. Vinod Nair.

Tulip entered the prestigious Femina Miss India in 2000 but could not make to finals. But she got noticed by many advertising agencies and she got lots of opportunities for modeling. She did modeling for the brands like Siyaram, Ponds, BPL, Pepsi, Smirnoff and many more. She was also a part of the music video made to pay a tribute to the legendary singer late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Tulip made way for movies quite by chance. She was Aditya Chopra's wife's friend and was noticed by the Chopra family at the wedding of Aditya Chopra. She was asked to appear for an audition and got selected as a lead in 'Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai'. She was not fluent in Hindi, but was trained in Feroz Khan's studio. She was advised to change her name to sound Indian and hence she chose the name 'Sanjana'. The film was a hit. She was paired opposite Uday Chopra and Jimmy Shergill in the film. The film got good reviews but Tulip was heavily criticized for her acting.

Then after two years of break, Tulip made a comeback with the film 'Matrubhoomi' . The film was dark about a futuristic world with almost no women. The film was appreciated by the critics and Tulip got accolades for her performance. Her next was 'Dhokha' which also gave her the recognition.

She was next seen in a Telugu movie 'Villain'. Tulip's next Hindi project was 'Dil Maange More' along with Shahid Kapoor, Soha Ali Khan and Ayesha Takia. The movie failed at the box office and got average reviews.

Tulip's first Punjabi movie was 'Jag Jeondeyan De Mele' with Harbhajan Maan. The duo again was seen together in 'Yaara O Dildaara' in 2011. She was seen in a super hit Kannada film 'Super' with Kannada superstar Upendra.

Besides this, Tulip was seen in the movies like 'Shoonya' ,'Mission 90 Days' ,'Superstar' ,'Daddy Cool' ,'Runway' ,'Hostel' ,'I am Singh' etc.
