Young talent in the Indian film industry Shamita Shetty was born on 2nd February 1979. Her family is Mangalorean and from Bunt community. Shamita is Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty's younger sister. Shamita Shetty is the daughter of Sunanda Shetty and Surendra Shetty. The charming lady did her schooling from St. Anthony Girls' High School in Mumbai. The actress was the student of Podar College in Matunga. Tulu is the mother-tongue of Shamita. Shamita appeared on silver screen for the very first time with Yash Raj Production's super hit movie 'Mohabbatein'. The movie was directorial venture by Aditya Chopra. The character 'Ishika' played by Shamita in the film earned her and her co-stars Preeti Jhangiani and Kim Sharma, the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year - Female for the year 2001. The dazzling actress rocked in the item numbers like 'Chori Pe Chori' in hit film 'Saathiya' (2002) and 'Sharara Sharara' in the movie 'Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai'. In 2005, Shamita starred in 'Fareb' with her sister Shilpa Shetty. In the same year, she acted in film 'Bewafaa' in a supporting role. In the year 2002, Shamita acted in one of the Tamil movie 'Raajjiyam'. 'Wajahh' and 'Agni Pankh' were the films in which Shamita starred in the year 2004.
