Sameera Reddy Biography

Sameera Reddy is the Indian beauty, who appears in Bollywood and Kollywood movies. The actress has also acted in several Bengali, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam movies. She was born on December 14, 1983 in Andhra Pradesh. Sameera hails from a mixed family background; her father Chintapoli Reddy, is a Telugu and her mother is a Goud Saraswat Brahmin. Sameera's father is a businessman, while her mother is a microbiologist. Sameera is having two sisters - Sushma and Meghna. Her sister Meghna was an ex-VJ and a supermodel and Sushma Reddy works in Bollywood as an actress.

Sameera completed her schooling from one of the popular schools in Mumbai called Bombay Scottish School in Mahim. The artist received the degree from Sydenham College in Mumbai. Sameera calls herself as 'the ugly duckling in the family' and a 'Tomboy'. As she says, she was not at all holding any glam quotient till the age of nineteen years.

The actress was a graduate, when she featured in ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas's music album 'Aur Ahista' in the year 1996. Sameera was donning a girl-next-door looks at that time and used to work in an MNC as a Marketing Executive.

After appearing in this album, the southern beauty Sameera grabbed everyone's attention snatching a key role in the movie 'Maine Dil Tujhko Diya' in the year 2002. Next, she was seen in 'Musafir ' in 2004.

This dusky beauty judged Miss Sri Lanka Online contest in the year 2012. She is the first Indian actress featuring in a video game. Sameera appeared as a street fighter in this game. The actress also acted in one of the Tamil movie named 'Vaaranam Aayiram'. She essayed the role of a confident and simple girl in this film and it brought her applause. The film turned out to be a blockbuster.

Sameera acted in several Bollywood movies like 'Darna Mana Hai' (2003), 'Taxi No. 9211' (2006), 'No Entry'(2005), 'Plan' (2004), 'Naksha' (2006), 'Fool N Final' (2007), 'One Two Three' (2008), 'Race' (2008), 'Aakrosh' (2010), 'Red Alert' (2010), and 'Tezz' (2012).

Being an ardent fan of Oprah Winfrey, the talk show queen of USA, Sameera stole the chance to meet Oprah when she was on her India visit. During the meeting, the talk show queen was highly stirred by the saree Sameera was wearing and the actress gifted Oprah Winfrey similar piece of saree.

At present, Sameera is working on her next Hindi film titled 'Naam', which is tentatively scheduled to release on May 24, 2013.
