Rahul Dholakia is a Bollywood director, producer, and screenplay writer.

Rahul Dholakia was born to Raksha and Parry in Mumbai and has a sister, Moha. Rahul finished his schooling from Campion School and Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai. He joined St. Xavier's College, Mumbai for a Bachelor's degree in Science.

His father has an advertising agency, Mora Ava and Rahul helped him run the business while he was in college. He worked as an assistant producer with producer Babla Sen for Channel 4, London. Rahul beside worked as an assistant with Everest Advertising in Mumbai.

He has a Masters in Filmmaking from New York Institute of Technology. He has made some documentaries, commercials, and later introduced the TV channel, TV Asia.

Films

In 2002, he made his debut film Kehtaa Hai Dil Baar Baar (2002) for which he cast Paresh Rawal and Jimmy Shergill in the lead roles. The whole film was shot in America. For his next film Parzania he won the National Film Award for Best Direction in 2006. This film was based on the communal riots which took place in Gujarat in 2002. The director is currently working on Lamhaa (2009) which will star Sanjay Dutt and Bipasha Basu.
