Mukesh Bhatt Biography

Mukesh Bhatt is a well known film producer of the famous Bhatt camp in the Hindi film industry. He has produced many superhit Bollywood films. Mukesh is the younger brother of famous Bollywood director Mahesh Bhatt. He is also the co-owner of 'Vishesh Films' the film production company which was set up in the year 1986. Celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, Rahul Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt, Emraan Hashmi, Shahin Bhatt and Mohit Suri are his nephews and nieces. Bhatt was born on 5th June 1952 in Mumbai. His father was a Gujarati Brahmin and his mother was a Muslim. His father, Nanabhai Bhatt was also a director and producer. Mukesh Bhatt has two kids, Sakshi, a girl and Vishesh, a boy.

Mukesh Bhatt started his career as a producer was 'Jurm' in 1990, the film could not do much at the box office. Then he in collaboration with Gulshan Kumar produced a romantic love story named as 'Aashiqui' in 1990 starring Anu Agarwal and Rahul Roy, both the newcomers. Mahesh Bhatt, his brother directed the film. The film was a hit followed by other big hits like 'Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin','Sadak', 'Sir' ,'Naajayaz','Criminal', 'Fareb' and in 1998 'Ghulam'. In 1993, he produced 'Sangharsh' starring Preity Zinta and Akshay Kumar was also a big critical and commercial hit. Then he directed a supernatural thriller 'Raaz' in 2002 followed by its sequel 'Raaz 2' in 2009. Both the films were successful at the box office. He introduced nephew Emraan Hashmi with his film 'Footpath'. His recent releases are 'Kalyug' ,'Zeher',' Woh Lamhe...','Gangster', 'Tum Mile', 'Jannat' and 'Crook' in 2010. His other releases were 'The Killer' ,'Showbiz' ,'Dhokha' ,'Awarapan' ,'Murder' , 'Kasoor' ,'Tumsa Nahin Dekha - A Love Story' etc. Recently he produced 'Raaz 3' was average and 'Murder 3' directed by his son Vishesh. 'Murder 3' was also a hit.

His upcoming film is 'Suicide Bomber' directed by Anurag Basu and his nephew Rahul Bhatt in a lead.
