Kader Khan Biography

Kader Khan is a legendary comedian and dialogue writer born on November 12, 1937 in Pishin, Baluchistan (now in Pakistan). He belongs to the famous Kakar tribe of Pashtun; his father's name was Abdul Rehman Khan and mother Iqbal Begum.

At the age of one, Khan got shifted to Bombay (now Mumbai) with his family in the crime prone slums of Kamathipura. He has done his schooling from a Municipality school and completed his graduation from Ismail Yusuf College, after which he acquired a master's diploma in Engineering. He used to work as a Civil Engineering teacher at M. H. Saboo Siddik of Engineering. It was in this college's annual function, he was spotted by Dilip Kumar while performing a play. All impressed by this engineering teacher, the superstar signed him for next two films- 'Sagina' and 'Bairaag'.

Since then, Khan's Bollywood career got in full swing, where he went on building the unbeatable record of working as a dialogue writer in more than 1000 films, while he has acted in more than 300 films. He is the one who penned the popular dialogues of Amitabh Bachchan in films 'Mr. Natwarlal', 'Agneepath' (1990), 'Amar Akbar Anthony', 'Muqaddar Ka Sikandar', 'Laawaris' (1981) and 'Naseeb' (1981).

Even after decades, Bollywood fans fondly remember these dialogues which have attended the cult stature. As an actor, he featured in the supporting roles of father, uncle, brother, relative, villain and comedian. His character roles in David Dhawan's films alongside Govinda are the most popular ones. Off lately Khan he has reduced his work in Bollywood. Last he was seen in movies 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi', 'Lucky' and 'Family'.

Khan has worked in Television as well with the popular shows like 'Hasna Mat', 'Mr. Dhansukh' and 'Hi! Padosi... Kaun Hai Doshi?'

On the personal front, Khan has three sons including actor Sarfaraz Khan. He also has a citizenship of Canada, but he continues to reside in Santacruz, Mumbai.
