    Ang Lee Biography

    Ang Lee is a Taiwanese-born American Movie Director, screenwriter and a producer. He was born on October 23, 1954 in a small town in Taiwan. Lee has directed films ranging many genres like Sense and Sensibility (1995), Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000) - which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign language Film, and Hulk. Two times he won an Academy Award for Best Director - One for 'Brokeback Mountain' (2005) and recently for 'Life of Pi' (2012).

    Lee directed a 'Life of Pi' which got released in 2012. The film was an adaptation of Novel of the same name penned by Yann Martel. The story was a first person narration from Pi, a 16 year old boy from India, who is the only human to survive the sinking of a freighter on the way from India to Canada. The movie received high critical and box office success. It earned 11 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Visual screenplay.
