Following the great success of Thiruchitrabalam starring Nithya Menon, Dhanush is again dominating the big screens with his latest film ‘Vaathi’. ‘Vaathi’, starring Dhanush, is now running in theatres worldwide and has received great reviews in both its Tamil and Telugu versions.
The film, which follows one man's struggle to improve the school system in the 1990s, has touched a nerve with audiences. The film has done exceptionally well at the box office. The film, directed by Venky Atluri, was released in both Tamil and Telugu at the same time. While the Tamil version was titled Vaathi, the Telugu version was titled SIR.
Over the weekend, the filmmakers turned to Twitter to publish an official poster, certifying the film's entry into the top 100. Dhanush also tweeted the poster to thank the fans. After last year's Thiruchitrambalam, this is Dhanush's second consecutive 100-crore-grossing film. His other Tamil film, Asuran, directed by Vetrimaaran, similarly grossed over 100 crores during its theatrical run. Vaathi, with music by G.V Prakash Kumar, also stars Samyuktha and Samuthirakani in major roles.
‘Captain Miller’, Dhanush's forthcoming Tamil film, is currently under production. His current look, which includes long hair, is for this film, which is being directed by Arun Matheswaran. Dhanush tweeted a photo from Captain Miller set last September. He was spotted with long hair, a heavy beard, and a mustache. He also wore shades while he stood facing the lake, but he turned around for the photo.
