Toilet: Ek Prem Katha witnesses ample footfalls at the box-office on 1st weekend!

It seems like Akshay Kumar has once again managed to wave his magic wand to churn out a box-office hit! Lately, with major flops, Bollywood has been facing its worst phase. Trade experts have been trying to figure out the loop and making their expert reports on the subject. Emerging as a star at such a time, Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is trying to break the curse and triumph with great content and plot to back it. The movie is released in around 3000 screens in India and 590 abroad.

The satirical drama raked in Rs. 13.10 crores on Friday, Rs. 17.10 crores on Saturday and Rs. 21.25 crores on Sunday. Hence, the total collection stands at Rs. 51.45 crores at the domestic front. The first weekend of the social drama crossed 50 crores which is a great news for the makers. It went passed Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal which made Rs. 45.75 crores during its first weekend.

The movie carries a positive word of mouth and has garnered rave reviews from the critics. Considering the trend, it does not seem difficult for the film to cross the 100 crore mark soon. Also, the film will benefit from the Independence Day National holiday!
