Toilet: Ek Prem Katha refuses to slow down; weekend 2 box-office!

Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is enjoying a good run at the theatres. The film has garnered love from the audience from across the country and even abroad. The critics have also given thumbs up for the movie which talks about open defecation and sanitation issues in the country. The film recently crossed the 100 crore mark and shattered the dry phase that Bollywood has been facing lately.

TEPK made Rs. 96.05 crores during its first week at the box-office. It further raked in Rs. 4 crores on Friday, R. 6.75 crores on Saturday and Rs. 8.25 crores on Sunday (Weekend 2). Hence, the total collection stands at Rs. 115.05 crores at the domestic front. The film is rapidly moving towards surpassing Rowdy Rathod’s lifetime Biz. which is Akshay Kumar’s highest grosser.

The latest update regarding the movie may delight all the cine lovers. It is being shown for free in multiple villages by the government to educate them and spread awareness. Also, Doorshan National Channel is soon broadcasting the movie for maximum reach. The actors have performed brilliantly adding soul to the excellent plot.
