Even controversy, negative reviews, and boycotts couldn't stop 'The Kerala Story' from making money at the box office. The focus of the financially successful film is a group of non-Muslim women who were forced to join the terrorist organisation ISIS. It has been successful in making the cash registers ring despite opposition.

Every film opening in theatres on the first Monday must be successful, and Adah Sharma's film was. 'The Kerala Story' was finally released on May 5 amidst all the controversy. The audience has reacted to the movie in a variety of ways. While some called it a 'propaganda film,' others on the internet called it 'fabulous.' On its first day, The Kerala Story brought in Rs 8 Crore. Following 'Pathaan' by Shah Rukh Khan, it had the fifth-highest opening for a Hindi movie in 2023.

Early projections indicated that the movie grew by about 10% on Day 5, May 9, 2023. Apparently, it brought in Rs 11 Crore at the box office. ‘The Kerala Story’ has thus far earned a total of Rs 57 Crore. On May 9, 2023 the occupancy rate for Hindi speakers was 29.67% overall.

An innocent Hindu woman from Kerala who is misled by Islamic friends and converted is the central character of 'The Kerala Story.' Later, she gets transferred to the ISIS terrorist group. The movie is produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and directed by Sudipto Sen. According to the film's allegations, 32,000 women from Kerala were caught in this risky plan in real-life occurrences.
