On November 18, 2022, the movie Drishyam 2 starring Ajay Devgn was released. The case was reopened in theatres 7 years after Drishyam, and the audience responded enthusiastically to it. The Ajay Devgn-starring film, which is directed by Abhishek Pathak, is off to a great start financially. Drishyam 2 had a strong beginning, grossing between Rs. 14 and 15 crore in India on day 1. In the event that the figures come in higher than expected, it has a possibility to come in second place among Hindi films this year, only after Brahmastra.

Drishyam beats Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 first day record

It has surpassed the mark set by one of the year's biggest box office hits, Bhool Bhulaiyya 2, which made Rs 14.11 crore on the day it was released. The number is more impressive than several movies with A-list actors like Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar. Akshay Kumar's Laal Singh Chaddha made Rs. 10.70 crore on Day 1 compared to Rs. 11.70 crore for Aamir's Laal Singh Chaddha on Day 1. The second day's advancements for Drishyam 2 are highly promising, and the movie can aim for a total of about Rs. 20 crore net. While performance on other circuits is respectable, Mumbai's performance has been outstanding. It should be noted that the movie is pulling in such numbers despite not having a trendy song in it.

Remake magic at the box office

The misconception that remake movies won't succeed in Bollywood has also been dispelled by Drishyam 2's strong start and early box office performance, as this movie may be in the running to be one of the highest-grossing Bollywood movies of the year. Only a few films actually saw success in theatres, making it a difficult year for the film industry. According to early indications, Ajay Devgn, who has already delivered two flops this year (Runway 34 and Thank God), will now have some relief thanks to Drishyam 2.
