Finally, ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ is available in theatres. The second installment of Mani Ratnam's epic opus has received positive reviews and had a great opening day at the box office. In the southern region of India as well, the movie's opening act was a tremendous smash. It appears that ‘PS 2’ is likewise aiming to set records.

Early estimates indicate that the movie made between Rs 33 and Rs 35 crores on its opening day worldwide. The movie was expected to have an advance booking of roughly 10 crore. But because of the positive word-of-mouth, lots of people have flocked to the theatres to see the Mani Ratnam film. The first installment's revenue was approximately Rs. 327 crores in India and over Rs. 169 crores ($20.70 million) abroad. The movie made about Rs. 496 crores at the international box office.
After their highly acclaimed 2010 film, ‘PS 2’ is Aishwarya and Vikram's second collaboration. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, and Jayam Ravi all play leading parts in the movie. The supporting cast includes Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Ashwin Kakumanu, Mohan Raman, Sarathkumar, and Parthiban.The technical team includes cameraman Ravi Varman, editor Sreekar Prasad, and composer AR Rahman.
Based on the same-named 1955 novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy, ‘Ponniyin Selvan's’ second volume.It will pick off where the original film left off, with spectators witnessing ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ staring death in the face as Aishwarya Rai's Oomai Rani dove into the water to save him. Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies are the movie's financiers.
