Amit Masurkar ’s directorial film Newton is moving up the box-office ladder day by day. The incredible story has rightly resonated with the audience. The movie has garnered a lot of appreciation from the critics and the audience alike. Starting low at the box-office, the film got a boost with the positive reviews. Further, the makers received a pleasant surprise when the film got selected as India’s official entry for the Oscars 2018.

In the first week, the movie made Rs. 11.83 crores at the domestic front. It raked in Rs. 91 lakhs on Friday, Rs. 1.66 crores on Saturday and Rs. 1.75 crores on Sunday. It further made Rs. 1.44 crores on Monday. Hence, the total collection week 2 stands at Rs. 17.44 crores in the domestic markets.

The movie has remained stable despite the tough competition from the big release like Judwaa 2. Newton features a stellar star cast of Pankaj Tripathi , Anjali Patil , Raghubir Yadav , Sanjay Mishra and Rajkummar that enhance and elevate the storyline with their flawless performances.

The movie narrates the tale of a newly recruited government employee named Nutan Kumar a.k.a. Newton, played by Rajkummar Rao , who is entrusted with the responsibility of carrying out a fair election in a Naxal hit area.
