    The film Udta Punjab witnesses a good first weekend box-office collections at the domestic markets.

    Abhishek Chaubey’s directorial venture Udta Punjab finally made it to the theatres on June 17, 2016. The theatres saw ample footfalls for the movie screening across India, which is a very encouraging signal. Udta Punjab raked in Rs. 10.05 crores on Friday, Rs. 11.25 crores on Saturday and Rs. 12.50 crores on Sunday. Hence, its total collection stands at Rs. 33.80 crores at the domestic markets.

    The movie performed very well in the Northern regions, especially in Punjab and Delhi. The film talks about the drug scenario and abuse in the state of Punjab. The film stars Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh in the leads.
