' Shaandaar ' starring endowed actor Shahid Kapoor and pretty actress Alia Bhatt had created huge buzz around it prior to its release. The trailer of the film was loved and, the cinema lovers eagerly waited for the movie. But, the movie could not impress the critics and garnered rather disappointing reviews.

The movie raked in Rs. 13.10 crores on in first day i.e. on Thursday. The film released on Dussehra which was a semi-holiday and had an added advantage. The collections on the first day could have been more but, the numbers were affected by the India-South Africa Match. On its first Friday, a considerable drop in numbers was witnessed, the film made Rs. 7.55 crores. Hence, the Thursday and Friday total collection stands at Rs. 20.65 crores at the domestic markets. Directed by Vikas Bahl , the film also stars Pankaj Kapur , Sushma Seth , and debutant Sanah Kapoor , among others.
