Deols' family drama ' Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 ' which was released last week, started slowly on its first day. The film had a good release and decent enough promo. But due to stretched out storyline and poor direction, the film suffered badly over the weekend.

Even Sunny Deol 's 'dhai kilo ka haath' could not give a hand to the film to make it big at the box office. ' Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 ' which is said to be a comic caper is a sequel to 2011 hit laughter riot ' Yamla Pagla Deewana '. The prequel was well received by the audience, but the Deol trio, Sunny Deol , Bobby Deol and Dharmendra could not work out their magic wand on their fans this time. The film collected 7.05 cr nett on Friday which is considered as an average amount for this big budget film. It was expected to grow over the weekends, but the collection graph remained average at the box office. The film suffered badly due to bad word of mouth. The film was expected to collect 7.75 cr nett on Saturday. Adding to the troubles of this film, the last week's release ' Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani ' attracted a more number of audience to itself. It gave the tough competition of Sangeeth Sivan 's comic caper.

The film collected 6.5 cr nett on Saturday and as the response in the overseas market was also low, YMD 2 managed to collect just 1.20 cr in the abroad market. The total domestic collections of this movie have been calculated till date is 14.80 Cr nett which makes the total worldwide collection of YMD 2 16.00 cr which is an average amount.
