The youth-centric flick ' Yaariyan ' starring fresh faces like Himansh Kohli , Nicole Faria , Rakul Preet , Serah Singh , Dev Sharma , Evelyn Sharma and Shreyas Pardiwalla , released on January 10. The film is directed by debut director Divya Khosla Kumar . The same day saw the release of Madhuri Dixit starrer ' Dedh Ishqiya ', however ' Yaariyan ' surpassed ' Dedh Ishqiya ' with flying colours.

' Yaariyan ' recorded a great start on the opening day by collecting 06.30 crore nett, while the Saturday collections of the film were 05.20 crore nett. Hence, the total first two days collections of the film can be summed up to 11.50 crore nett. The film should show marginal increase in numbers for collecting around 17-18 crore nett over the first weekend. Made out of the budget of around Rs. 19 crore, the movie has recovered 7 to 9 crore from satellite and the other revenues. The film featuring all newcomers and collecting such numbers at the box office indicates a good sign of the film on the verge becoming a hit.
