First Weekend Box Office Collection of 'Shahid'

The ace director Hansal Mehta knitted a gripping concept in a brand new bundle in the form of October 18 release \'Shahid\' and presented it to the viewers. The movie talked about a true life story of the slain lawyer Shahid Azmi and his laborious life pages. It featured the budding artist Rajkummar Rao as Shahid Azmi and the actor conveniently portrayed his role. This film was meant for the niche audience and thus, did not had much expectations.

On the first day of its release, \'Shahid\' collected 25 lakhs. The chances of this flick attracting crowds were nil, as it was devoid of entertainment quotient, being a gruelling life tale; moreover, it did not star any big starcast. Nevertheless, the movie managed to grab positive reviews from the critics and a good word-of-mouth publicity. On Saturday, the flick garnered 35 lakhs approximately. The anticipated collections of Sunday were around 45 lakhs, which can make the first weekend total collection of 1 crore nett.

\'Shahid\' had to struggle a lot due to Akshay Kumar starrer action-drama \'Boss\', which is luring the masses in every possible way.
