The romantic thriller film ' Roy ' became the highest Box office opener film of 2015 by collecting Rs.10.40 crores on its first Friday. The film was riding on high expectations due to its popular star cast and due to the response the film's trailer and songs received. The second day i.e. Saturday collections of ' Roy ' totalled to the sum of Rs.11.16 crores net which is a pretty good number.

Director Vikramjit Singh marked his debut with this film. The film received mixed reviews from the audiences and critics though its songs were loved by all. The third day, Sunday collections of ' Roy ' dropped substantially due to the India-Pak match. The Sunday collections were approx Rs. 7.12 crores in the domestic markets. The film is likely to get a tough competition from the soon to be released film ' Badlapur ' for achieving its 100 crore mark as the Varun Dhawan starrer film has also created a lot of buzz and seems to be a promising one.

The movie was released in over 4000 screens and was made with a budget of about 30 crores with additional 10 crores for P & A. ' Roy ' stars actors Ranbir Kapoor , Jacqueline Fernandez and Arjun Rampal in the lead roles.
