    First Weekend Box Office Collection of 'Mahabharat'

    Animated flick 'Mahabharat' directed by Amaan Khan released on December 28. The movie performed average at the box office.

    Being the sole major release on December 27, Amaan Khan 's directorial venture ' Mahabharat ' mainly allured the kids audience. However, the tough contender ' Dhoom 3 ' was already in the line to lock horns with this flick.

    The animated wonder ' Mahabharat ' is based on the great ancient Hindu epic, Mahabharat and the animated characters in the film were given voiceovers by Bollywood biggies like Amitabh Bachchan , Sunny Deol , Vidya Balan , Ajay Devgn , Shatrughan Sinha , Deepti Naval and Manoj Bajpai . The characters in the film were designed in such a way that they will resemble to the star, who will be rendering the voice to them. This factor made the film a unique affair. As per the reports, ' Mahabharat ' collected around 2.21 crore nett on Friday and the second day collections of the film were 2.73 crore nett.
