June 6 marked the release of two films, ' Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty ' and ' Filmistaan '. Akshay Kumar , Sonakshi Sinha starrer was expected to please the audience and going by the report, the film garnered 12.18 crore nett on its first day of release. Although Friday morning shows displayed low occupancy, the picture was better during evening shows.

' Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty ' directed by A. R. Murugadoss was released across 3500 screens. It could not perform much better in single screens in Bihar, UP and Maharashtra, but the film was good in multiplexes. The Saturday collection of the film was 12.30 crore nett, reportedly. The movie collected 14.85 crore nett on Sunday, thereby making the total domestic collection of the film up to 39.23 crore nett. As per the report, the total overseas collection of the flick till now is 05.50 crore nett. Hence, the total worldwide collection of the Akshay Kumar starrer can be summed up to 44.83 crore nett.

The other release ' Filmistaan ' featured new faces and confronted tough competition from ' Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty '. On Friday, ' Filmistaan ' collected 51 lakhs, whereas the Saturday collection of the film rose to 01.04 crore nett. The film raked in 01.05 crore nett in the first two days of its release. The performance of the film on Monday will decide its first week performance at the box office.
