Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah Bhatia starer ' Himmatwala ' started average in the morning shows. But when the single screened opened up, the collection graph took up high. Though the multiplex audience gave average reviews to the film, the single screen audience loved the desi mindless drama and dialogue baazi in the movie.

To be frank, in spite of getting average reviews from the critics, the film did not perform bad at the box office on its first day. Filmmaker Sajid Khan had left no stone unturned while doing the publicity and marketing of the film, but still movie could not came up to his expectations as it managed to collect just 12.75 cr on its first day unlike his previous three blockbuster films. The film should have collected more than 15 cr to call it a hit.

The occupancy in the morning shows was just 20 -25% , but it increased in the evening upto 40-45% in the single screens.
