Emraan Hashmi starer spooky horror flick ' Ek Thi Daayan ' took an average start at the box office on the first day of its release. In the morning shows, the occupancy was average but film jumped in evening and night shows. But it did not create any big difference in the final tally of the day one collections.

The film performed better in the metro and urban cities than in small cities which is surprising for Emraan Hashmi solo starer. May be not so popular soundtracks hit the film. But the movie got a good response from the metro audience which helped the movie to collect the decent numbers. The film managed to collect 6.75cr on its first day. In order to come up with flying colors, the film has to attract more audience in the small cities as well on the coming days.

' Ek Thi Daayan ' is directed by Kannan Iyer and stars Emraan Hashmi , Konkona Sen Sharma , Huma Qureshi and Kalki Koechlin in the key roles.
