'Bangistan' Witnesses Extremely Low Box-office Response!

Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat starrer 'Bangistan' has proven to be a box-office disaster! Even though the film was promoted well, it failed to create enough buzz. The bad reviews and negative word of mouth made the situation worse for the satirical drama. The film collected only a few lakhs on its opening Friday and could not even reach the amount of Rs. 1 crore.

Collecting merely Rs. 4 crores approximately on its first weekend, the film becomes the lowest weekend opener of this year. Also, this is Riteish's lowest grosser film so far. The film that also stars Jacqueline Fernandez is the story of two kind hearted men from a fictitious place called Bangistan, who under the influence of their respective religious leaders decide to become terrorists in order to establish fear and superiority of their religion over the other.
