Alankrita Srivastava’s latest film Lipstick Under My Burkha finally released in theatres yesterday, July 21. The film went through a lot of controversy and CBFC trouble but hailed victoriously. The film received rave response from the critics as well as the audience. It has been titled as the most realistic film and a mirror for the patriarchal society. Due to all the buzz around it, it managed to garner audience attention and there was curiosity amongst the cine lovers to witness the film in the theatres.
Konkona Sen SharmaThe film has been screened in minimal theatres and has opened in only around 400 screens. It managed to rake in a decent number of Rs. 1.22 crores on its opening Friday. It stars power performers Ratna Pathak, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aahana Kumra, Plabita Borthakur and Vikrant Massey in key roles. It has been produced by Prakash Jha Productions and distributed by Ekta Kapoor.
The movie Lipstick Under My Burkha received a tough competition from Tiger Shroff, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Nidhhi Agerwal’s Munna Michael and Hollywood release The Black Prince. Since it carries a positive word of mouth, biz of the film is expected to see a good rise!
