The second installation of ‘Karthikeya’ made a major impact at the box office. In the third week the film dropped less than fourth per cent and collected Rs. 20.25 crores approx. the complete box office collection in India has reached Rs. 86.75 crores approx with a huge chance of hitting Rs. 100 crores as its final numbers. Globally the film has crossed three digit numbers with $1.70 million (Rs. 13.50 crores). The worldwide box office collection grosses over Rs. 100.25 crores.
In an unconventional manner the film garnered a larger success with the loss of the pan Indian film ‘Liger’ . The timing was key for the film as the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi was ideal for the narrative of this film and the business saw a jump. Recently the film was just thirty per cent down from the previous week which is an impressive hold.
