Red Chillies Entertainment and Dharma Productions have come together for the latest release which a crime thriller Ittefaq. The was released last week and witnessed a decent first week at the domestic box-office. The film is a remake of Late Yash Chopra’s 1969 film of the same name starring Sonakshi Sinha, Akshaye Khanna and Siddharth Malhotra in the lead. The murder mystery drama has received a positive response from the audience as well as the critics.

It further raked in Rs. 85 lakhs on Friday, Rs. 1.35 crores on Saturday, and Rs. 1.55 crores on Sunday (weekend 2). Hence, the total collection stands at Rs. 27.40 crores at the domestic front. It is competing with Kalki Koechlin, Sumeet Vyas’s film Ribbon that also released on the same day and also with Golmaal Again is still in theatres and is performing well for itself.
Ittefaq is about a high profile double murder case involving two prime suspects who have very different stories to tell. The pro-cop has to unfold the truth. The story is for a niche audience and has an intriguing plot. The thriller is directed by Abhay Chopra and shot in just one tight schedule. The thriller is a refreshing watch amidst the conventional Bollywood films.
