Lipstick Under My Burkha was in a middle of the storm of controversy over censorship of its content and being stalled for quite a while. But caused quite a stir in media and people were talking about throughout the course. And fairly, film critiques were also impressed with this dark comedy and the film itself blessed by the praising review from those people who went to watch the movie. So did that transformed well on box office window?

Apparently, being availed on just 400 screens across the country and mostly in metro cities, it was opened up to a limited number of audiences. Hence, on its first day Friday, the opening collection was just 1.22 crore, most of the Friday audience chose to go to Munna Michael , who underperformed at the box office. But on the weekends, the graph went up and on Saturday it earned 2.17crore, followed by Sunday revenue of 2.41crores. Making a total of 5.8crores, for the first weekend! Though it is really good for a film based on such a thought provoking and bold topic, it would commendable if it stands still throughout the week and expands its screen scope.

The film Lipstick Under My Burkha , is a story of four women, in different age and class, in a small town in Bhopal, discovering the sexual freedom and exploring sensuality, in the dark satiric narration! The film is directed by Alankrita Shrivastava and produced by Prakash Jha. And it also includes dynamic cast like Konkona Sen Sharma , Ratna Pathak Shah , Aahana Kumra and Plabita Borthakur , Sushant Singh , Vikrant Massey , Shashank Arora, Vaibhav Tatwawaadi and Jagat Singh Solanki.
