Drishyam 2, starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu, is still having a successful run at the box office. On Sunday, the tenth day after its release, the film's global box office revenue surpassed 200 crores. This indicates that it is already one of the top 5 highest-grossing Bollywood movies of the year, and based on its performance over the weekend, it will probably soon break into the top 3.
The 2015 smash hit Drishyam, starring Ajay and Tabu, has a sequel, Drishyam 2, which is also a remake of Mohanlal's 2021 Malayalam movie of the same name. Drishyam 2 is helmed by Abhishek Pathak. The movie had a successful opening weekend at the box office, ranking second best after Brahmastra among Bollywood movies this year. The picture has performed well in its second weekend, despite the fact that the majority of its revenue comes from domestic audiences.
Drishyam 2 has earned a gross of ₹170 crore in the local market and 33 crore abroad, giving it a worldwide total of 203 crore in its first 10 days, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. Despite Bhediya's recent release receiving favorable reviews and growing due to word of mouth alone, the movie has outperformed it. Drishyam 2 is now in second place on the list of the highest-grossing Hindi movies of the year, barely behind Gangubai Kathiawadi (which took in ₹211 crore), and is expected to overtake it on Monday. Brahmastra (₹431 crore), The Kashmir Files (₹341 crore), and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (₹266 crore) are the films that are above it.
Industry experts believe Drishyam 2 will easily surpass Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 by next week and will also pass the ₹300 million threshold shortly after. However, how well it performs in December will determine whether it can entirely alter The Kashmir Files. Shriya Saran, Akshaye Khanna, and Ishita Dutta are featured in Drishyam 2 as well. There are now rumours that a third installment could be ready soon.
