Box Office Report: Jugjugg Jeeyo rakes in over Rs 9 crore on day 1; Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 still going strong
Jugjugg Jeeyo, which stars Anil Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Neetu Kapoor and Kiara Advani, had a good start on day 1 of release (June 24). The word-of-mouth has been great too and early trends suggest an upward spike in footfall and box office numbers during this weekend.
As per trade reports, the film has done a business of around Rs 9.50 crore on its first day. The occupancy day one was around 20% with good business in North India or the Hindi belt.
The film is reportedly doing decently in the urban/metro segment which includes cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh and Pune.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh too informed that Jugjugg Jeeyo gathered speed after a lacklustre morning. "#JugJuggJeeyo opens on expected lines: Gathers speed in evening, after a lacklustre start in morning... Plexes of #Mumbai [select locations], #Delhi, #NCR very good... Mass pockets dull... Growth on Day 2 and 3 essential... Fri 9.28 cr. India biz (sic)," read his tweet.
On the other hand, Kartik Aaryan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has been still going strong at the box office for the fifth consecutive weeks. The horror comedy has grossed close to Rs 8.18 crore in the fifth week.
With this, the gross collection of the film now stands at approximately Rs. 184.32 crore.
