Rajshri Production's Uunchai, which released on November 11 (Friday), has started its run at the box office on a decent note. On the first day of release, the film has minted approximately Rs 1.60 crore to 1.85 crore, as per initial reports.
Noteworthy, the figures are more than satisfactory for the film which released in limited screens across the country. Furthermore, Uunchai has also become Amitabh Bachchan's biggest opener post the pandemic.
As per trade analysts, Uunchai has had a decent start of 20-25% and given the small number of screens (480-500 in India), the collection range of 1-2 crore is decent. Especially when recent releases could manage to bag that much despite releasing in double the number of screens.
While the positive word-of-mouth has been good, critics have also heaped praises on Uunchai, appreciating the performances of Amitabh Bachchan and Anupam Kher.
Directed by Sooraj Barjatya, Uunchai had been produced under his banner Rajshri Productions, in association with Boundless Media and Mahaveer Jain Films.
The film presents an ensemble starcast including Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Parineeti Chopra, Neena Gupta, Boman Irani, Danny Denzongpa and Sarika.
A heartwarming adventure film, Uunchai portrays friendship between senior citizens coming from various walks of life.
