Box office collections Day 10: Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu & Ajith Kumar’s Thunivu continue to hold strong at theatres

At the box office, the Tamil films starring Thalapathy Vijay and Ajith Kumar faced off head-to-head rivalry. Despite the decline, Varisu was able to hold a commanding lead against Thunivu, which stars Ajith. Although it seems like Ajith's movie may need some more time to join the Rs 100 crore club, the H Vinoth-directed Tamil action movie is doing well at the box office. All eyes are now on the current weekend, which both movies must now focus on in their own unique ways. Day 10 collections of Varisu

The movie starring Thalapathy Vijay is doing really well in theatres. The movie finished its first week at the box office with a total worldwide take of over Rs 210 crore in just 7 days, and business is still brisk. The movie has been putting up respectable numbers and holding steady over the weekdays at the box office. Varisu reportedly made Rs 4 crore India net for all languages on Day 10. This brings the total revenue to, supposedly, Rs 136 crore. On Friday, January 20, Varisu's overall Tamil occupancy rate was 32.27%.

Thunivu: Day 10 collections

On January 11, Thunivu debuted to the astounding sum of Rs 24 core. It overtook Varisu right away, but over the next few days, the collections slightly declined. According to reports, the Ajith movie made Rs 3 crore on its tenth day of release, bringing its total receipts to over Rs 97 crore. On Friday, January 20, Thunivu had a 33.11% overall Tamil occupancy rate.
