'Pathaan' starring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in lead roles has proved to be a juggernaut at the box office. On day 25 of its release (18 February/Saturday), the film comfortably inched towards the Rs. 1000 crore club despite a new release like Kartik Aaryan-starrer 'Shehzada'.
Even the release of Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania couldn't have much impact on 'Pathaan', which is still seeing good growth in terms od box office numbers.
As per trade pundits, the YRF-produced action film minted around Rs 3.5 crore on Saturday. This takes the total collection of 'Pathaan' to Rs 988 crore worldwide.
It is being expected that 'Pathaan' would maintain its steady run at the ticket windows even on Sunday (19 February) as tickets for the movie have been capped at Rs 200 at various national multiplex chains.
Having shattering all the existing domestic records, Pathaan has already grossed over Rs 612 crore at the domestic circuit.
Internationally, the action flick has done stupendously well in the US and Canada as well as in several European countries including UK, France, the Netherlands and Germany.
Directed by filmmaker Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra under his production banner Yash Raj Films (YRF), 'Pathaan' is the fourth film in YRF Spy Universe (the other three films are 'Ek Tha Tiger', 'Tiger Zinda Hai' and 'War').
'Pathaan' also features Salman Khan in a cameo, reprising his role of Tiger (from 'Ek Tha Tiger' and 'Tiger Zinda Hai').
