Ajay Devgn’s ‘Drishyam 2’ hits a huge mark as it crosses the 63 crores mark on Day 3

Drishyam 2 has saved the Bollywood industry from a not-so-successful year for the theatres. Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Brahmastra, and Drishyam are the only 3films this year to have a huge opening.

The box office success of Ajay Devgn and Tabu's Drishyam 2 is still going strong. According to the report, the movie made between Rs. 26.50 and Rs. 27 crore and surpassed Rs. 63 crores on its third day. Given that it increased by 40% on Saturday alone, this is a really impressive gain, and the mass belts are helping the movie do well at the ticket office. Drishyam 2 also features Tabu, Akshaye Khanna, Ishita Dutta, Shriya Saran, and Saurabh Shukla under the direction of Abhishek Pathak. It centers on how Ajay's family handles the reopening of a murder case that keeps coming back to haunt them.

Drishyam’s opening day collections

The movie made 21.59 crore on Saturday after debuting on Friday for 15.38 crore. Drishyam 2 is looking at a tremendous Sunday as it seems to be going up another 30% approx. The expected Sunday revenue ranges from 26.50 to 27 crore net. On the first day, midnight shows were added in response to crowd demand, and single-screen theatres were packed to capacity. Drishyam 2 surpassed Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, one of the year's biggest box office hits, which had made Rs 14.11 crore on the day of its release.

Will Drishyam continue its strong hold during the weekdays?

It remains to be seen if the movie passes the Monday challenge, but given that Drishyam 2 had already gained traction during advance bookings, it's entirely feasible that it will establish itself as a hit throughout the course of the week. Drishyam also provides some relief to the Bollywood business, which has experienced a string of failures this year, particularly big-budget starrers. The follow-up to the successful Nishikant Kamat-directed first movie was helmed by Abhishek Pathak. According to the box office and favourable reviews, Drishyam 2 appears to be one of the few exceptions to Bollywood's general lack of success for sequels.
