Actor Varun Dhawan, who is considered as the commercial king among the Gen Y stars, tried something totally different with October. Known for making masala movies, with Shoojit Sircar’s October, he added another feather to his cap. But his latest outing didn’t give him the same results which his earlier films had given. Released last Friday, October faced a low start but the movie picked momentum on weekends and the figures grew drastically. On its first day, the movie minted Rs. 5.04 cr, on Saturday, it witnessed a growth of more than 48% and collected Rs. 7.47 cr and yesterday, it pocketed Rs 7.74 crores and took the grand total to Rs. 20.25 crores.

October, which isn’t a commercial film, got 1683 screens all over India and 625 screens in the overseas markets. And despite the slow start, the collection of the beautiful film is expected to rise this week.
