Zoya Akhtar hosts a dinner party for the newlyweds Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar

After dating for 4 years, Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar took their relationship a notch higher by finally tying the knot on 19th February, 2022. Shibani Dandekar and Farhan Akhtar's first day as a married pair was a whirlwind. Their wedding was registered during the day. They gathered at Shibani Dandekar's residence in the evening with relatives and friends. The couple thereafter went to a dinner organised by Farhan's filmmaker sister Zoya Akhtar later that night.

The couple arrived in style at Zoya Akhtar's residence and took the paparazzi by surprise. Shibani donned a stunning cowl neck purple satin gown. With minimal makeup and a sophisticated hair updo, Mrs. Akhtar looked ethereal. A dainty choker accessorized her outfit. On the other hand, Farhan was seen dressed in a casual outfit in contrast to his wife in a black full sleeved t-shirt and matching denims. Shibani's sister, actress and VJ, Anusha Dandekar and her bestie Rhea Chakraborty also arrived. Anusha wore a shimmery white off shoulder jumpsuit whereas Rhea donned a classic Little Black Dress (LBD).

Farhan's father, Javed Akhtar and his step mom, Shabana Azmi were also present at the dinner. The couple were dressed in traditional outfits.

On 19th February, in Khandala, the actor-filmmaker married the TV presenter and actor in a private ceremony attended by family and close friends. According to sources, the pair exchanged wedding vows and opted for a simple ceremony instead of a traditional wedding.

Actors Hrithik Roshan, Saqib Saleem, Rhea Chakraborty, filmmaker Farah Khan, Farhan's sister Zoya Akhtar, and music composers Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani, and Loy Mendonsa were among those who attended Akhtar and Dandekar's wedding.

Farhan Akhtar was previously married to the British hairstylist Adhuna Bhabani. They got divorced in 2017. They share two kids, Shakya and Akira Akhtar. His ex wife and kids also attended the wedding.
