Zayn Malik has always voiced his views, but in 2018, he announced that he no longer identified as a Muslim, which landed him in hot water. The former One Direction member was attacked on the Internet at the time for his remarks. Zayn acknowledged in an interview with a top fashion magazine that he did not believe in any religion and no longer practised religious practices such as daily prayer.

On the professional front, Zayn Malik is presently working on his fourth solo album. For the past few days, the handsome hunk has been teasing about it on his social media pages. This comes on the heels of Selena Gomez unfollowing on Instagram.

Returning to Zayn Malik's views on religious beliefs, the singer told, “I’m not professed to be a Muslim. I believe whatever people’s religious beliefs are is between them and whoever or whatever they’re practising.”

“I don’t believe you need to eat a certain meat that’s been prayed over a certain way, I don’t believe you need to read a prayer in a certain language five times a day. I don’t believe any of it. I just believe if you’re a good person everything is going to go right for you.” He also fails to talk on such topics, “becomes a religious f***ing debacle of philosophers.”

Zayn said, “I just want to keep it between me and whatever I believe. I feel like that makes me move through life in a nice way.” The musician also stated that he found it "really easy" to abandon his beliefs.

The Pillowtalk hitmaker said, “With my mum and dad, they were always there to educate us — I did go to mosque, I did study Islam but they gave us the option so you could choose for yourself.”
