YRF is on a roll. Following the success of Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan, the studio is gearing up for the third installment of the Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer, Tiger 3. And the studio's visual effects department, known as yFX, is extremely busy. Sherry Bharda, the department head, recently opened up about the two projects and what it's like to work with both Khans.
Sherry Bharda, the head of YRF's VFX - yFX, recently spoke candidly about the work they did on Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' and what they are working for Salman Khan's 'Tiger 3.' "We had to do a studio shoot due to the pandemic," she remarked of their most recent film, the SRK starrer that became the biggest blockbuster in Bollywood this year. There were travel limitations, and there were just a few people on the set. What was originally live action had to be converted to VFX."
Sherry praised Shah Rukh Khan, saying, "He is one of the most cooperative and insightful actors." He is engrossed in the procedure. He'd constantly want to see what was done and if the VFX had accomplished their goals. He was curious about the process and how it would eventually culminate in the shot. This type of teamwork is uncommon. So the VFX crew was grateful, and it was an incredible opportunity to work with him."
"We have been working with Salman Khan for a long time," Sherry stated of yFX's next project, Salman Khan's Tiger 3. We've worked with him on various VFX shoots over the years. He'd adjusted and adapted well enough. We know what works for him, and he knows what is expected of him. It depends on how effectively you can communicate the VFX requirement to him. After that, the process becomes collaborative."
When asked about the aesthetics in Tiger 3, Sherry revealed that a lot of work had gone into making the much-anticipated Salman Khan threequel. "We invested a lot of time in the film, so once it went on floors, the process became easier," she explained. We pre-visualized every scenario in Tiger 3, which made the process much more effective. Tiger 3 is a well-planned film with extensive pre-production."
Sherry also revealed yFX's fave scenario to date, the Tiger x Pathaan crossover in Pathaan. "That's our all-time favourite scene," she remarked. It was complicated, but Sidharth (Anand, director) had a very clear idea of what he wanted. It was a difficult task, but we completed it successfully."
