Yami Gautam, who has recently appeared in the films Dasvi (2022) and A Thursday (2022) , was outspoken when her performance in Dasvi was criticized. She expressed her displeasure on social media. In a recent interview, the Vicky Donor (2012) actress stated that speaking out was "necessary."
In the recent interview, Yami was asked how she felt when her work in Dasvi, which was met with mixed reviews, was singled out. The actress stated that "criticism should always happen," and that she did not react because someone said something negative about her performance, but rather because she felt the comments were "personal."
She said, “I have heard it from the beginning. Everyone gets criticised at some stage in their life, and this will always happen. But when it gets personal, that’s when I felt that I was not wrong in feeling this emotion, or I was not being carried away by emotion. I felt like expressing myself because I thought it was necessary.”
Yami emphasized that she has worked her entire life “without compromising, keeping my dignity and values intact.” She went on to say, “I don’t owe anyone anything in this industry. I have gratitude for certain directors and producers but I don’t owe anyone anything.”
On the work front, Yami Gautam will be next seen in Lost and OMG 2.
