There's a very interesting update on Shraddha Kapoor's much awaited Naagin film, which is being produced by Nikhil Dwivedi (who had also produced the successful flick Veere Di Wedding in 2018).
As per the latest buzz, work pertaining to special visual effects in the project will commence from next month.
In the trilogy film, Shraddha will essay the role of a shape-shifting serpent.
“Naagin is a big project, and will require heavy VFX too. So the makers will start VFX modelling from June. Other pre-production work including casting for supporting actors and scouting for apt locations has already begun. Shraddha will start shooting for the film after completing her work on Luv Ranjan’s untitled next with Ranbir Kapoor,” a source close to the product told a leading entertainment portal.
Many would remember that Shraddha had announced her association with the project in the end of 2020. Taking to Twitter, she had expressed excitement over finally being able to do a Naagin film.
“It’s an absolute delight for me to play a Naagin on screen. I have grown up watching, admiring and idolising Sridevi ma'am's Nagina and Nigahen and have always wanted to play a similar role rooted in Indian traditional folklore,” the Aashiqui 2 (2013) actress had wrote on Twitter.
On professional front, Shraddha will next star opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Luv Ranjan's as-yet-untitled project. Besides, the 35-year-old actress is also slated to appear in a double role in the remake of 1989's slapstick film ChaalBaaz, named ChaalBaaz in London.
