Darsheel described himself as "a shameless child, a ruckus" in a recent interview. He recalled an incident in which he woke up during a movie showing and discovered that everyone was sobbing while they watched the movie. He said it was "the most gloomy mood possible" and that he "quietly went back to sleep."
Aamir Khan produced and directed the drama movie Taare Zameen Par in 2007. Aamir, Darsheel, Tanay Chheda, Sachet Engineer, Vipin Sharma, and Tisca Chopra appear in the movie. The film is based on Ishaan, an 8-year-old boy, and his imagination.
Darsheel stated, "I recall seeing it seven times when it first came out, all screenings, out of which, to be completely honest, I slept the last two or three times because I was young. I was a ruckus—a shameless kid! After that, I turned away because I thought, "Ok, enough now, rest." I tend to avoid watching emotional movies since everyone around me is sobbing. Everybody cried when I woke up in the middle of a film at one premiere where I had slept off. It was the most gloomy setting imaginable. I slipped back into sleep in silence!
He added, "I liked all the attention! Who doesn't enjoy it when someone loves them unexpectedly? Without knowing you, a stranger approaches and says, "Yaar (friend), you were fantastic." I recall encountering people my grandparents' age who blessed me and showed me, true love. These were very touching times. I had the impression that I had done something significant, which I don't fully comprehend now but will in the future.
Darsheel last appeared in the Amazon Mini TV short film Capital A, Small A. Along with Darsheel, Revathi Pillai is a cast member. He will also appear in the forthcoming Viral Shah film Kutch Express in Gujarati. Key parts are also played by Ratna Pathak Shah, Manasi Parekh, and Dharmendra Gohil. The movie Kutch Express will hit theatres on January 6, 2023.
