One of the most beloved names in the realm of Hindi comedy cinema, the Akshay Kumar-led ‘Welcome’ franchise had fervent fans eagerly awaiting its third installment. In an exciting announcement on Thursday, the creators of the franchise unveiled ‘Welcome 3’, revealing its title and the much-anticipated release date. Titled ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, this uproarious venture is all set to hit the big screens on the festive occasion of Christmas in the upcoming year.

The inaugural film in this blockbuster comedy series, ‘Welcome’, debuted on Christmas of 2007. It showcased the charismatic pairing of Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the lead, complemented by the talents of Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Paresh Rawal, and Feroz Khan in pivotal roles. Directed by Aneez Bazmee, the film soared to the ranks of the highest-grossing productions of its year.

The sequel, christened ‘Welcome Back’, featured John Abraham and Shruti Haasan as the central protagonists. The film boasted an ensemble cast, which included the likes of Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Shiney Ahuja, Ankita Shrivastava, along with Dimple Kapadia, Paresh Rawal, and Naseeruddin Shah. Helmed once again by Aneez Bazmee, the movie's triumph at the box office added to the franchise's glory.

In a notable development, beloved characters Uday and Majnu, portrayed by Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor respectively, will not reprise their roles in ‘Welcome 3’. Instead, the iconic duo from the ‘Munnabhai’ series, Arshad Warsi and Sanjay Dutt, are rumored to be stepping into these memorable roles for the upcoming film.

While the spotlight remains on Akshay Kumar as the film's leading force, the new ensemble also welcomes Jacqueline Fernandez and Disha Patani on board. Furthermore, Suniel Shetty, who previously collaborated with Akshay in the ‘Hera Pheri’ series, will make an introduction as a fresh character in ‘Welcome 3’.

‘Welcome To The Jungle’ promises to be a one-of-a-kind adventure-comedy, infusing a unique blend of humor and excitement. It’s a comedy set in the jungle. The idea is to create a one of its kind adventure comedy, that amps up the scale over the earlier two parts,” as per reports.
