Versatile actors Vikrant Massey and Sanya Malhotra started from square one in Bollywood and have been unstoppable ever since. The duo recently left a mark on the audience with their performance in the Zee5 film, Love Hostel (2022). Vikrant and Sanya featured as newlywed interfaith couple Ahmed and Jyoti in the romantic thriller directed by Shanker Raman. Bobby Deol also starred in the film and played the role of an assassin.

Vikrant Massey recently disclosed in an interview that he and Sanya Malhotra underwent therapy during the filming of Love Hostel. According to Vikrant, there are many Ahmed and Jyoti (interfaith couples) out there, and people are well aware of what happens in interfaith marriages. The actor confessed that filming was not only physically exhausting for him, but also emotionally draining.

In an interview with India Express, the Chhapaak (2020) actor said, “I did go through quite a bit of ups and downs while filming Love Hostel. I was continuously taking therapy. This film had a certain degree of emotional impact on me. Physically, yes, it gets tiring, but emotionally both Sanya and I had to go through therapy during Love Hostel.” He went on to say that there were days when he cried and that he had restless nights. “For you to think like someone you are not, it does catch up with you. You start thinking like your character. You start feeling like your character. It is that journey that becomes challenging,” he said.

The subject of the film, according to the actor, was what drew him to it, and he thought it had the potential to be the audience's voice.
